But eventually, you may find yourself wanting to switch it up and give your Seiko a fresh look. What better way to do so than to change the watch band?

Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be an intimidating process. With a few simple steps and the right tools, you’ll have your Seiko watch looking its best in no time. So if you’re ready to take the plunge, buckle up and let’s get to it! Our simple guide to changing a Seiko watch band will take you through the process step-by-step. Let’s get started!

Changing a Seiko Watch Band

Step #1: Prepare Your Tools

Before you start, make sure that you have the right tools for the job. You’ll need a spring bar tool, which is a small, thin tool that looks like a push pin. You’ll also need a holding block, which is a small block that you can use to hold the watch in place while you work.

Step #2: Lay the Watch on the Side and Insert it on the Holding Block

The first step is to lay the watch on the side and insert it into the holding block. This will allow you to have a secure and stable surface to work on. Once the watch is in the block, open the bracelet up and remove the spring bar from the clasp.

Step #3: Cover the Lugs with Masking Tape

The next step is to cover the lugs with masking tape. This is done to protect the watch from potential scratching from tools. To do this, lay the watch face down on a leather pad or a towel. Once the watch is in place, use the forked end of the spring bar tool to catch the shoulder (ridge) of the spring bar, and insert it into the small gap where the spring bar is visible. Once the spring bar is secured, you can then proceed to the next step.

Step #4: Depress the Spring Bar

Now it’s time to depress the spring bar. Use the spring bar tool to apply pressure towards the watch band and away from the watch case. When the spring bar is clear of the lug, the side of the band will come away from the watch case.

Step #5: Repeat Step Three and Four to Do the Other Side of the Watch Band

Once you’ve done the first side of the watch band, you’ll need to repeat steps three and four to attach the other side of the watch band. Once you’ve done this, you can give the watch a shake to make sure that the watch band is securely attached to the watch.

And there you have it—you’re all done! Changing your Seiko watch band is a relatively simple process that can be done in just a few easy steps. With this guide, you’ll be able to upgrade your Seiko watch band in no time!
